Compatibility Information for Microsoft® Windows® Operating Systems

Please check below for information about the compatibility of your Sony® HDRHC3 camcorder.

• Drivers:
• The drivers needed to connect your Sony camcorder to a computer and transfer files are already included in the operating system.
• The Windows 8 and Windows Pro editions are supported.
• Unable to charge my device via the USB port on a Windows® 8.1 PC
• Software:
• When using Windows Live Movie Maker™ software and an iLink® connection:
• It is not possible to write video in the HDV format back to the tape from Movie Maker.
• It is necessary to import an entire movie from the tape, you will not be able to import partial segments of a movie.
• Download Windows 8 compatible software:
• Download and install PlayMemories Home™
• Picture Motion Broswer Ver. 5.8.02 is supported with the Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro operating systems, however, we recommend using PlayMemories Home.
• Not Supported:
• The USB streaming feature is not supported with the Windows 8 operating system.
• Notes:
• Windows 8 must be factory installed on your PC.
• Operation cannot be guaranteed if the PC has been upgraded to Windows 8 from another OS.
• Operation is not guaranteed for all PC models.
• The Windows 8 and Windows Pro editions are supported.
• Operation verified in Desktop mode only.
