Rumours are circulating on the Internet that female employees of a local bank are offering sexual services to their clients on the side. The bank said it is currently investigating the matter.
Last month, a Taiwanese blogger called Kathy Chen posted on her blog that during her stay in Singapore, she allegedly discovered numerous pretty female staff from a local bank earning extra money by prostituting themselves. The staff are thought to be from different branches of the bank.
According to Ms Chen, one of her male friends had ‘hooked up’ with a female bank manager from this local bank. The blogger even uploaded a picture of the manager in lingerie and claimed that the woman in question graduated from Nanyang Technological University and is a corporate finance manager.
“She hooked up with my friend. I know she joined the bank just a while ago and sells her body at night to earn extra cash. She provides different kinds of sexual services to her clients and gets about $3,000-3,500 a month for them, depending on how much her clients are willing to pay,” Ms Chen wrote in a blog post. The blogger went on to explain that these female staff price their services in two ranges: $3,000-3,500 per month or $400-500 per night.
Responding to these rumours, the bank involved said that it had been tipped off about one of its female staff prostituting herself on the job, and sacked her immediately. However, the bank did not confirm whether this female staff was the manager mentioned in the blog post.
When contacted, the female staff who was sacked said she was innocent and has already filed a police report. She is consulting her lawyer before pressing charges, and did not reveal any further information. All she said was that she has records of WhatsApp messages that she can show to the police and her lawyer to prove her innocence.
According to her, she met her ex-boyfriend on a social networking website and began a relationship with him in January this year. The relationship is said to have lasted only two months and ended on a bad note.
She said that since then, her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her. She also said that the female blogger who made the allegations against her was a friend of her ex-boyfriend’s, who has been in love with him for a long time. She claimed that the blogger did this to get back at her.
This former bank employee said that she has never engaged in any sexual trade and felt helpless losing her job at the bank after working for just one year there.
