SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will focus on raising productivity and growing the incomes of Singaporeans over the next few years.

It will be based on three key pillars - building a productive workforce, progressive workplace and inclusive growth.

Speaking at the MOM Workplan Seminar on Monday, Manpower Minister Gan Kim Yong said Singapore's economy rebounded strongly last year.

While the year ahead is filled with opportunities, it will also be challenging.

Mr Gan said his ministry will provide greater and more targeted support to encourage workers at all levels to participate in training.

More investment will be put towards strengthening the Continuing Education and Training (CET) infrastructure.

It was previously announced that two national CET campuses will be built in Paya Lebar and Jurong Lake district by 2013.

A one-stop centre providing training and career services for workers, the campuses are touted as the first of its kind.

They will provide 150,000 training places and train up to 50,000 workers annually.

The designs of the two campuses were unveiled on Monday at the seminar.
